Edward Ihnatowcz I saw his work on TV (probably Tommorrow's World on the BBC) as a teenager and it was this that led me to take it for granted that using electronic technology was a legitimate artistic activity. I still believe it to be some of the most overlooked art of the 20th Century.

Toshio Iwai has done some of the most effective work using computer technology that I have seen. Playful, moving, showing us something about how we perceive the visual environment. I really can't think of another artist of his generation who has used computer technology better.

Yoichiro Kawaguchi has a unique style that early in his career showed that it is possible to use implicit surfaces to create successul animation. Ana rtist who has also worked and published with scientists, his work seems at time to border on the kitch and hints at the kawaii but more often is reminiscent of the weirdness of microscopic organisms and deep sea creatures. At times he has had access to computing pwoer that most of us could only dream of :)

Karl Sims The evolution continues. The animation of the evolved creatures continues to impress me with the sense of life - just goes to show how we can be duped by our senses.
